Guerlain Chicherit and FORS PERFORMANCE’s Stéphane Orré collaborate to create new Rallycross team with aim
to further young drivers.
The team, which will be known as G-FORS, is working closely with trusted suppliers and technical partners to create 2 new Renault Clio R.S. RX Supercars. With the main aim to create an opportunity for keen drivers wanting to race in Rallycross to enter the European RX Championship, the French Rallycross Championship as well as selected World Rallycross rounds, G-FORS creates a stepping stone and all-important learning curve on the way to enter a full FIA World Rallycross Championship.
FORS Performance, who will be designing, engineering and managing the team throughout the season, appointed
Atte Varsta from Finland, well-established within the Rallycross paddock, having managed athletes and teams alike,
as G-FORS Team Manager.
Guerlain Chicherit, who is entering the 2018 FIA World Championship season with GCK, his 2 car Renault Mégane
RS RX team operated by Prodrive, wants to see G-FORS enabling up and coming drivers to gain as much experience
as possible and to create a talent pool producing future World Champions.
Co-founder and co-director of FORS Performance and G-FORS Technical Director, Stephane Orre, commented « I am very excited to form G-FORS and to continue my collaboration with Atte Varsta. We have developed a strong
relationship over the years and we both want to create one of the most successful teams in Rallycross. We’re working
hard on building extremely competitive Renault Clios and will push to produce the next European Rallycross
“I was very flattered when asked to take a role of such huge responsibility in this newly formed team. With our
collective experience, I trust we will produce winning drivers in a short time. I have worked with Stephane in rally and rallycross for the past 4 years and his presence in the team will be a vital part of our success.”, added Team Manager Atte Varsta.
Guerlain Chicherit commented “I’ve been working with Stéphane and FORS PERFORMANCE for the past year and
have seen how committed and dedicated they are to the sport of Rallycross. Supporting Stéphane and Atte in creating G-FORS is a mutually beneficial opportunity to create a way to nurture talent and prepare them for World RX. G-FORS presents an exciting opportunity for drivers as a stepping stone to the World Championship and allows me to keep an eye on up and coming talent in the hope of finding future Champions to drive in World RX”.
